Wrong: Either Ram or Shyam have done this.
Correct: Either Ram or Shyam has done this.
Wrong: Neither the teacher nor the students was late.

Wrong: Either he or his friends is guilty.
Correct: Either he or his friends are guilty.
Not Only–But Also Errors
Wrong: He is not only intelligent but also honesty.
Correct: He is not only intelligent but also honest.
Wrong: She is not only singing but also dances.
Correct: She is not only singing but also dancing.
Wrong: He is not only a teacher but also teaches.
Correct: He is not only a teacher but also a guide.
Although / Though / Yet / But
Wrong: Although he is rich but he is unhappy.
Correct: Although he is rich, he is unhappy.
Wrong: Though she tried hard yet she failed.
Correct: Though she tried hard, she failed.
Wrong: Although it was raining, but he went to school.
Correct: Although it was raining, he went to school.
Because / Since / For / As
Wrong: He could not go as because he was ill.
Correct: He could not go because he was ill.
Wrong: He failed because of he was careless.
Correct: He failed because he was careless.
Wrong: I respect him because he is honesty.
Correct: I respect him because he is honest.
Lest / Unless / Until
Wrong: Work hard lest you may fail.
Correct: Work hard lest you should fail.
Wrong: Wait here unless I return.
Correct: Wait here until I return.
Wrong: He will not pass unless he does not work hard.
Correct: He will not pass unless he works hard.
And / But / Or Misuse
Wrong: He is poor and he is honest.
Correct: He is poor but he is honest.
Wrong: Study hard and you will fail.
Correct: Study hard or you will fail.
Wrong: Walk quickly or you will miss the bus.
Correct: Correct sentence.
So…That / Such…That
Wrong: He is such intelligent that he can solve it.
Correct: He is so intelligent that he can solve it.
Scarcely / Hardly / No sooner
Wrong: No sooner did he reach the class when the bell rang.
Correct: No sooner did he reach the class than the bell rang.
Wrong: Scarcely had the teacher entered than the students stood up.
Correct: Scarcely had the teacher entered when the students stood up.
